2009

Hard to believe that we are now in February 2009. Since the last post we have farewelled the McEwen Family to the Training College for their two years of training to become Salvation Army officers. We have also had the official retirement service for Major Raewyn Fridd and Ruth Baxter has moved to Carterton. It's been sad to have to say farewell to these amazing people. We are thankful to God for the people who have come our way this year already and have welcomed Sue & Simon Stevens and their family along with Jenny and her family.

I am really excited about this year and have a real sense that God has big things in store for us, and as we are willing to "step out of the boat" and put our faith into action, we will see God in action in and through us....bring it on I say!

Sunday 30th November - Justice & Grace

It's the end of November and before we know it we will have christmas carols coming at us from every direction.

This Sunday we have a guest preacher - Captain Rebecca Gane - our Divisional Youth Secretary (she oversights the youth work that takes place through the middle chunk of New Zealand).

She will be speaking about Justice & Grace.

Also on Sunday @ 6:30pm we are heading to the Salvation Army in London street for the official farewell of Majors Raewyn & Lindsay Chisholm, Captain Rebecca Gane and....

Its also the divisional farewell for accepted candidates (people who are heading to our training college to become officers) - We have the McEwen family to farewell (see photo in previous post below) so its going to be a great occasion.

Sun 16th Nov - what's on the menu

This sunday David McEwen is going to be speaking - it will be great I am sure. David & Tina along with their 4 kids and various animals are heading to Booth College of Mission (Upper Hutt) next year to begin their training to become Officers (ministers/pastors) with The Salvation Army. As sad as it will be for us to lose them from our city they will always remain a part of the grandview corps family.

David is speaking on "what would Jesus do?" - a question that is well worth asking - especially if you are wanting to 'imitate Christ' and be a dynamic disciple.

so 10:30am this Sunday - 180 Grandview Road

and our children's programme "recruits" is also on
